10 Tea Facts & Tips

Tea is key to good health, happiness and wisdom.

 

Tea contains very high levels of flavonoids. Studies show lower risks of cardiovascular disease, cancers, and other chronic diseases in tea drinkers.

 

Temperature is key…too low= will not extract all the flavors/benefits of the herb, too high=can be too bitter, never oversteep

 

Less is more. Best ratio is 1 heaping tsp for every cup of water. using too much tea can release too much flavor resulting in a bitter cup of tea. Why waste tea if you don’t have to.

 

Tea contains antioxidants for cell repair, cures colds and coughs, keeps skin youthful, and prevents cognitive impairments

 

Loose tea leaves remain good for over 2 years if kept away from light and moisture

 

4 major types of teas are Black, Green, White, and Oolong which all come from the same plant Camellia Sinesis

 

For centuries tea was only used for medicine prior to becoming an everyday drink

 

Do not drink yesterday’s tea. 

 

Drink tea 1 hr. before or after each meal.
